Huge congratulations to Officer Mackenzie Kruse and K9 Balto of the Princeton Police Department on receiving the 2026 Illinois Juvenile Officers Association Initiative of the Year Award! 🏆🐾
This award recognizes the incredible therapy dog program they’ve built to support students and strengthen community connections.
Balto (also known by his registered name: Ruswood Rising River Piece of Cake 🍰) is doing amazing work as a gentle, comforting presence for kids in need. This handsome boy is growing up so fast and will be celebrating his very first birthday in late June! 🎉
A huge shoutout and thank you to the team who bred and donated him to the department: Sarah and Correy Krickeberg, Ben Warnock, and Charissa O'Connell. 🐕‍🦺👏
