Oklahoma Academic All-Staters Created by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence to provide news and networking opportunities for Oklahoma Academic All-State alums. David L.

OFE is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to recognizing and encouraging academic excellence in Oklahoma's public schools. Since 1987, the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence has annually selected 100 outstanding public high school seniors as Academic All-Staters. The students are honored each May at foundation's Academic Awards Banquet, a gala event attended by nearly 1,000 guests and televised state

wide on OETA. Boren, chairman and founder of the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence, describes the selection of the scholars as “Oklahoma’s most rigorous academic competition.” Academic All-Staters are nominated by their principals or superintendents and are selected on the basis of academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community involvement, as well as an essay submitted by each nominee. Many Academic All-State Alumni are encouraged to stay involved with the foundation, serving as mentors in the Boren Mentoring Initiative. Many serve on foundation committees, on the Board of Trustees or as volunteers and donors. The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence seeks news and updated contact information from its All-State Alumni. We've got shiny new medals for our 40th Academic All-State class! The OFE team is so excited to give these out to our All-State and Medal for Excellence recipients Saturday.

This is the first time the All-State medals will actually say Academic All-State on the front of them.

We're counting down the days until we can hand out these shiny new medals to our Academic All-State and Medal for Excellence honorees!

We look forward to seeing you all Saturday at the Academic Awards Celebration as we celebrate outstanding public school educators, students and foundations.
