On August 25, the 49 Project in Oklahoma City is bringing together dozens of wellness vendors and resources for OKCPD personnel and their families. Physical, emotional, spiritual, and financial wellness all in one place.

This is the kind of initiative Brave United exists to amplify. When foundations and communities invest in first responder wellness, lives change.

"I'm not alone in the fight."

That's why we exist. That's why we brought foundation leaders from across the country together in Louisville.

And that's why we're already building toward year two.

No foundation leader should have to figure this out alone. No first responder should either.

After 35 years of service with the Oklahoma City Police Department, Deputy Chief Brian Jennings has officially retired, and we couldn't be prouder or more excited about what comes next.

Brian has been part of the Brave United family since the beginning, and now he's all ours. As our Chief Operating Officer, he brings decades of real-world law enforcement leadership to the work of building a national movement for first responder wellness.

Brian, your dedication to this mission has never wavered. We are honored to have you leading alongside us full-time.

The best is still ahead. Welcome to the next chapter. 🇺🇸

America turned 250 today. 🇺🇸

For 250 years, men and women in uniform have made sure this country had something worth celebrating.

While fireworks light up the sky tonight, thousands of officers are on duty protecting the celebrations they're missing. Brave United honors every one of them.

It's a wrap.👏

The Brave United Inaugural Conference has come to a close, and we are still taking it all in.

Three days. Louisville, Kentucky. Foundation leaders, law enforcement executives, wellness professionals, and advocates from across the country, all in one room, united by one mission.

We heard from extraordinary speakers. We toured the gold standard Summit Wellness Center. We shared meals, conversations, and the kind of connections that don't happen over a Zoom call.

And we left with something more valuable than any agenda item: a network of people who believe, as we do, that the men and women on the front lines deserve better.

To every attendee, speaker, sponsor, and partner who made this possible... thank you. You showed up for this mission, and this mission will not forget it. 💙

This was our first conference. We're already looking towards our next in Oklahoma City in 2027.

Speaker Spotlight: Dr. Regina Brugh, ND, FDN

The work of law enforcement takes a toll that doesn't always show up on the outside. At the Brave United Inaugural Conference, we're dedicating a session to what that costs the body, and what to do about it.

Dr. Regina Brugh is a Doctor of Naturopathy, Functional Medicine clinician, and educator with more than 30 years of experience helping patients navigate complex chronic health challenges. As founder of I Am Well Clinic in Delray Beach, Florida, she specializes in uncovering the underlying factors that influence health, recovery, resilience, and human performance, with a particular passion for supporting first responders, veterans, and their families.

Her session, "Carrying the Invisible: The Physiological Cost of Chronic Stress and the Science of Proactive Recovery," will give foundation leaders practical insight into what chronic stress actually does to the body and what proactive recovery looks like for the people on the front lines.

Foundation Spotlight: Oklahoma City Police Foundation

We're kicking off a new series highlighting the incredible work happening at police and public safety foundations across the country, starting with some big news out of Oklahoma City.

The OKCPD Wellness Unit was featured by News 9, and for good reason. For years, this team has operated out of a small 700-square-foot space with little privacy, all while serving 800 to 900 officers a year seeking mental health, peer support, and wellness services.

That's about to change. The new Cornerstone Wellness clinic, a 12,500-square-foot building in Oklahoma City, is under renovation and being built with purpose: physical rehabilitation and injury treatment, private mental health spaces, holistic services, and quiet therapeutic rooms for relaxation, all designed to support officers.

Through generous community members, the Oklahoma City Police Foundation raised the funds to make this happen, without a single city tax dollar.

This is what's possible when a community invests in the people who protect it. We're proud to highlight this work, and we can't wait to share more stories like it from foundations around the country.
