Hearts of Okeechobee – A K. Ashton Project Care Closet is officially taking shape, and it's all because of this amazing community. While we haven't quite reached our goal of 100 Summer Care Bags for our homeless neighbors yet, we are getting closer every day thanks to your donations and support!

In the coming weeks, my children and I will be transforming this space into a true Care Closet—a place filled with clothing, shoes, hygiene essentials, baby items, non-perishable food, and other necessities for families and individuals facing hard times.

This is just the beginning! Our hope is that, as this ministry grows, we will be blessed with a larger, climate-controlled space that allows us to serve even more families, safely store donations year-round, and expand our outreach throughout the community. 🙏

Every donation, every share, and every act of kindness makes a difference. Together, we're building more than a closet—we're building hope. 💙

This weekend with Hearts of Okeechobee ❤️

One of the most important things I’m trying to teach my children is that life isn’t about how much we have — it’s about how much we give.

The world is so much bigger than our own homes, our own schedules, and our own needs. When we step outside of ourselves and serve others, we start to see what really matters.

I don’t want my kids growing up thinking happiness comes from having more. I want them to understand that the greatest blessings come from being a blessing to someone else.

So this weekend, like many others, we spent time serving our community. Showing my kids that generosity, compassion, and kindness are things we practice — not just things we talk about.

Because at the end of the day, no one has ever gone broke by giving too much- Ronald Reagan
