Ohio is actually so wild sometimes 😭

Libraries getting cut. Schools underfunded. Roads falling apart. People struggling financially.

And somehow our lawmakers decided THIS was the priority:rushing HB 188 through over Mother’s Day weekend with basically no time for the public to respond.

Like be serious.

Ohio can already do international business. We do not need a whole political commission dedicated to Israel while everyday Ohioans are being ignored.

That’s why people HAVE to speak up right now.

Because when lawmakers realize nobody is paying attention, they move fast.

The hearing is Tuesday, but testimony is due Monday. They combined proponent, opponent, and interested party testimony all together and rushed the process hard.

So please:• send the emails• make the calls• submit testimony

I made a toolkit to make it easy.

Living in Ohio means sometimes we gotta stop bad bills ourselves apparently šŸ’€

It’s been 78 years since the Nakba, and for many of us, it’s not only our history it’s ongoing, it’s personal, it’s our families, our villages, our stories.

We’re coming together for a Nakba March to stand together, to be seen, and to remind each other that our voices matter. Sometimes it feels like showing up doesn’t do much, but it builds community, it keeps the truth alive, and it shows that we haven’t forgotten.

If you’ve ever wanted to learn more, stand in solidarity, or just be around your community then come.

HB 292 creates a new defense commission funded by public investment earnings, including interest from Israel bonds and uses that money to expand the current and new defense industry projects with limited oversight.

That means our tax dollars could:
• fund private defense contractors
• support classified facilities
• justify continued investment in bonds many are actively trying to divest from

We believe public money should serve our communities, not expand unchecked defense spending.

This is what people power looks like.

Because of sustained organizing, Franklin County chose NOT to reinvest another $3.5 million in Israel Bonds that came due on February 1, 2026.

That means that over the last 13 months, Franklin County has now chosen not to reinvest a total of $11 million in Israel Bonds.

When this campaign began, Franklin County held $33 million in Israel Bonds. Today, that number is down to $22 million.

This victory belongs to every person and organization that showed up, made calls, sent emails, attended meetings, spoke at public hearings, shared information, and refused to accept that our taxpayer dollars should fund Israel’s violence and human rights abuses.

We knew the moment was now. Israel Bonds have been downgraded, Israel’s economy has become increasingly unstable because of ongoing war and regional escalation, and Franklin County residents made it clear that our public money should not be tied to that risk.

Together, we won this round.

But we are not done. Franklin County still holds $22 million in Israel Bonds, and the next reinvestment decision is coming in December.

Let’s keep organizing until Franklin County fully divests.
