We have had an amazing summer with Ella! She brought a love for home, curiosity and care to all she did (and the list is long!) From Big Give to the Instrument Petting Zoo, she engaged many of us to talk about the future of youth in our area. We wish her all the best as she returns to school!

We are thrilled to welcome Ella Schlake as our Hometown Intern for 2026 She brings an incredible array of skills and talents, as well as curiosity about Keith County and the assets and abundance we all share.

The Hometown Intern program was created by Nebraska Community Foundation to invest in our future, both the people who shape it and the projects that will help us thrive. There are dozens of other Hometown Interns across the state, making a difference for their communities in ways far beyond what we could imagine.
