Today, Detachment #1492 Peacekeepers honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and service of those who gave everything for our country.

As we gather with family and friends, we proudly remember our fallen heroes and keep their legacy alive. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

“Freedom is never free.”

Happy Memorial Day from Detachment #1492 Peacekeepers. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 Support Our Veterans & Local Community 🇺🇸
The Marine Corps League Peacekeepers Detachment #1492 is reaching out to our amazing community for support!
We are currently preparing for an upcoming fundraiser and are looking for raffle prize donations from local businesses and supporters. Donations can be a gift card, product, service, or experience — anything that would make a great raffle prize.
We are a registered 501(c)(4) nonprofit dedicated to serving those who served us. Every dollar raised goes directly toward making a real difference in the lives of veterans and our local community.
Our mission focuses on:
• Helping homeless veterans find stable housing
• Giving back by supporting other local charities and community organizations
Your donation not only helps continue this vital work, but we will proudly recognize your business as a sponsor and share our appreciation on social media.
If you would like to donate or learn more, please contact
Richard Pounsberry
📞 302-628-2624
We are also welcoming new members! If you or someone you know would like to join and give back, we would love to hear from you.
Thank you for supporting those who served and the community we all love.

Today, the Peacekeepers detachment #1492 pays tribute to courageous marines who served during the Vietnam War. We extend sincerest appreciation to our Commandant Marine Rickard Pounsberry and Senior Vice Commandant Marine John Daddezio, who bravely served in the Vietnam War, and to all distinguished marines on this Vietnam Veterans Day.
According to historical records maintained by the U.S. Department of Defense, approximately 345,000 U.S. Marines served in Vietnam during the war (1965–1973).
We honor those who fought for this country and express deepest gratitude to the families of those brave men and women who gave, and continue to support, those valorous warriors for your service.

Thank you.

The Peacekeepers Detachment #1492 is seeking culturally diverse Marines, veterans and civilian members to join our group.

Brothers and Sisters in Arms,

We are calling upon honorably served military veterans — from all nations and who are located or near by in the southeastern part of the state of Maryland, to join our Peacekeepers Detachment #1492.

If you have worn your country’s uniform, understand discipline, loyalty, and sacrifice, and still carry the warrior spirit of service, this mission is for you.

Our detachment is built on:
• 🤝 Brotherhood beyond borders
• 🛡️ Honor and integrity
• 🎖️ Continued service through peace and stability missions, keeping the traditions of the USMC.

This is not about politics and we are a non profit organization.
This is about veterans standing together, sharing experience, leadership, and whose primary purpose is to preserve the traditions and promote the interests of the United States Marine Corps while supporting Marines, veterans and their families.

We welcome:
• Combat and non-combat veterans
• Officers and enlisted
• Active reservists (where permitted)
• Veterans from all allied and partner nations.

Your service didn’t end when you took off the uniform.
The mission continues.

If you are ready to stand shoulder to shoulder once again, under the banner of peace, contact us to learn more about joining our detachment.

If you are interested, please contact our Commandant Marine Pounsberry at (302) 628-2624 or e-mail: [email protected]
for further information.
