Today a friend and I went for a pleasure paddle over at Forge Pond, in Brick, NJ. Although I did find a very few amount of bottles in the water and some garbage around the parking lot area, I was so beyond thrilled to see it was extremely clean. We paddled all the way through the winding river, up over and through the pond with... little to no trash. ゚

That's what I call a tremendous success. The paddling community that does cleanups on their own and the volunteers that come out for Stroke Your ECO/Paddle For The Planet events are the reason it is so clean. That's what it's all about. This work is not for nothing and forge pond shows that, clearly. It has cleaner waterways and leisure areas for for us to enjoy, but most importantly our wildlife to thrive in! It is so very cool to see!

What an unexpected extremely fun morning cleaning shark river with ...

1st it started with me looking at the tides yesterday and realizing that we couldn't do the section that I would have liked, due to high tides. I was nervous if land volunteers actually showed up. They didn't show up, which was a blessing in disguise from the Universe, because I would've been panicking on where to send people. 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Luckily Memorial Park only needed 2 of us for 15 minutes to spruce it up, so we packed up and headed to south riverside drive to launch.

2 hours later, we were able to clean up a section that the tides unfortunately bring a ton of to and had barrels of fun!

The universe also set us up for success by having a giant plastic tub there to throw all the trash into! #🙌
