📢 CALL TO LOCAL AND REGIONAL ARTISTS! 📢

Freedom means something different to each of us. It can be found in our personal journeys, creative expression, relationships, beliefs, memories, aspirations, and everyday lives. This exhibition invites artists to explore and interpret the concept of freedom through their unique perspectives and artistic voices.

Artists are encouraged to consider themes of self-expression, resilience, identity, hope, possibility, remembrance, and the enduring human spirit. Works inspired by America's 250th Anniversary and the 25th Anniversary of September 11 are welcome, but participation is not limited to those subjects. The goal of this exhibition is to celebrate the many ways freedom is experienced, understood, and expressed.

Eligibility & Mediums: Open to local and regional artists working in all mediums, including but not limited to painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, ceramics, fiber art, mixed media, digital art, and fine craft. MCA membership is NOT required to enter.

Entry Fee: One (1) piece: $25 | Two (2) pieces: $35

Awards: Cash & ribbon awards will be presented for:

Best of Show (cash prize)
First Place (ribbons for all placing artists)
Second Place
Third Place
Fourth Place
Fifth Place
Honorable Mention

Auditions for RENT are in only two weeks!!! 🤯 You've got about 20,000 minutes left to get ready. ⏰ Fortunately, we're offering something that can help you do your best.

PRE-AUDITION WORKSHOP: There will be a free, optional, pre-audition workshop on Sunday, July 12 at 6 p.m. Led by director Eb Madson and music director Justin Davis, this practical workshop is ideal for both newcomers and experienced performers to meet the show’s creative team, learn about the audition process, and practice your audition song and monologue. Bring your sheet music so you can rehearse your audition song.

ABOUT THE SHOW: How do you measure a year in the life? Through seasons of love. Set in the East Village of New York City, this iconic musical follows a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive, dream, and create under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Winner of the 1996 Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, this passionate pop-culture phenomenon is about falling in love, finding your voice, and living for no day but today. La vie Bohème!
