Christmas in the Park in Oblong, Illinois Christmas in the Park takes place at Oblong Park in Oblong, Illinois. These volunteers solicit donations, conduct fund raisers and recruit more volunteers.

Displays and lights are turned on the Friday after Thanksgiving and left on through January 1. Christmas In The Park Mission Statement

The Christmas In The Park committee was formed in 2008 to take over some of the responsibilities left unattended by the disbanding of the Oblong Lake Restoration Committee. As a Non-Profit Organization, the Christmas In The Park committee is made up totally of vol

unteers. Funds raised are used for the purpose of purchasing decorations and supplies for the Oblong Lake. Volunteers donate their time and talents to provide a Holiday theme and spirit around the Oblong Lake & Park area. This is accomplished thru the building, setting up, maintaining, removing and storing these decorations. The Christmas In The Park committee is committed to providing Oblong and the surrounding community with a quality Christmas Holiday experience as they visit our Oblong Lake and Park facility.

Our lighting season is now over and we just got all the displays, lights, cords, etc. put to bed. We are so grateful for the little elves that come out to help set up and put away from year to year. We are a small group but we are determined.
We would be remiss if we didn’t say a huge “Thank you” to those of you also that stood in the cold taking donations and those who made donations whether it be by driving thru our park or sending us a check. We are very proud of our Christmas display and hope you like it too. Until next season, which is only 9 more months for us. Lol!
