Join the Oakley Youth Advisory Council for 🍕Pizza Palooza🍕 to learn about how YOU can cheese the day and get involved in the Oakley community.

Facts you knead-to-know:
🍕 The Oakley Youth Advisory Council is a council of youth representatives that help plan and attend events in the City for youth and their families and advise the City of Oakley on policies that pertain to our youth community.
🍕 Oakley students in grades 6th through 12th are welcome to join!
🍕 Monthly meetings are 1st & 3rd Wednesdays @ 5PM - 6PM (August - May)
🍕 This event will include FREE pizza!

Pizza Palooza will be held on Wednesday, September 16th at the Oakley Recreation Center (1250 O'Hara Ave) from 5pm to 6pm. Stop by to learn about how to become a member of the Oakley Youth Advisory Council.

Oakley, check out the lineup for this Friday!

For the month of September, our Friday Night Bites in partnership with Foodie Crew includes a concert featuring Maya Latin Band 🎶

The food trucks and the live music will be on site from 5 – 9pm at Civic Center Plaza, 3231 Main Street in Oakley.

Guests may bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy their meal and concert in the park. No outside alcohol is permitted.

In Let's Cook, join us for a relaxed, hands-on cooking class where we'll prepare delicious recipes from scratch using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Each themed class features a unique menu, practical cooking techniques, and plenty of inspiration for everyday cooking. We'll cook together, enjoy the meal we create, and you'll leave with new recipes and the confidence to make them again at home.

For ages 18 and up, this class takes place Tuesday, September 15 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm with the theme of "Farmers' Market to Table: Fall Harvest". Registration is available online at www.oakleyca.gov/RecRegistration or in person at the Oakley Recreation Center.

The dynamic workout of Essentrics will activate all your muscles, free your joints, and increase mobility. Dynamic and easy to follow - our full body technique works through your muscle chains, making you feel more energetic. Essentrics draws on the flowing movements of tai chi, which create health and balance; the strengthening theories behind ballet, which create long, flexible muscles; and healing properties of physiotherapy, which create a pain-free body.

For ages 18 and up, this class takes place Mondays beginning September 14 through September 28 from 6:15pm - 7:15pm at the Oakley Recreation Center. Registration is available online at www.oakleyca.gov/RecRegistration or in person at the Oakley Recreation Center.

Let’s get cooking! Kids in the Kitchen is an interactive class that gives kids the chance to chop, mix, measure, and create real meals using fresh, healthy ingredients. Each session introduces basic kitchen skills, simple nutrition concepts, and plenty of tasting. Kids will gain confidence, try new flavors, and have fun working together to make something delicious from start to finish. Perfect for young chefs who love to help in the kitchen—or want to start!

For ages 7-17 , this class takes place Wednesdays beginning September 9 through September 23 at the Oakley Recreation Center. A Foundations class to help new cooks learn the basics will take place 2:00pm-3:00pm and regular classes will take place 3:45pm-4:45pm or 5:30pm - 6:30pm. Registration is available online at www.oakleyca.gov/RecRegistration or in person at the Oakley Recreation Center.

In this Gentle Yoga class, we will explore restorative poses to calm and soothe the body. Through breath and postures, practitioners will stretch the body and relax the mind. This is a class for all levels and all bodies. Yoga and mindfulness are known to alleviate stress, strengthen the body, improve flexibility and contribute to well-being. Don't forget to bring your yoga mat!
