Music is so much more than a "nice-to-have." Research shows that students who have access to music education experience several other parallel benefits.

Visit dpwmusicfoundation.org to get involved as we make sure that more students can experience the power of music!

Happy Juneteenth! This week, our founder accepted a Juneteenth Proclamation Award from the City of Hayward, honoring Freedom Day and the work of our organization.

Today, the Dwayne P. Wiggins Foundation has not only sponsored Hayward's Juneteenth Celebration but has also provided live music through the "Tony! Toni! Toné! The Legacy Continues" Band. Visit dpwmusicfoundation.org to learn more about our organization and how you can get involved.

Our student scholarships provide financial support for Oakland youth to participate in private instruction, group music programs, and performance experiences.

We also offer scholarships to undergraduate students pursuing music education or music-related studies, supporting their academic training, artistic growth, and access to enrichment opportunities. Our goal is to remove financial barriers and help students at every stage continue their musical journey.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN. Visit dpwmusicfoundation.org or the link in our bio for eligibility details and more info.

This past March, with the help of our community partners, we launched the Dwayne P. Wiggins Foundation, honoring the legacy and philanthropy of Dwayne Wiggins. We welcomed a beautiful group of attendees committed to helping us expand access to music resources and opportunities for Oakland youth.

We’re grateful to have had a successful and inspiring event, and we’re excited for what’s to come, as this is just the beginning. Keep your eyes out for more opportunities to connect and support the continuation of Dwayne’s vision and legacy.

Applications for scholarships for Oakland youth are now open, while applications for Oakland music educators will open July 1.

Join us on Saturday, March 7 at the lake for a special Cars and Coffee meetup! Gather in community to remember Dwayne on the anniversary of his passing, and celebrate his legacy, dedicated to expanding arts access and opportunity for youth across Oakland.

Head over to 500 Grand Avenue and start your morning with a free cup of Red Bay Coffee, generously sponsored by the Dwayne P. Wiggins Trust (first 250 customers while supplies last). Bring your ride and join in the showcase of cars.

Come out from 8:00am to 10:00am and vibe with us to the sounds of Dwayne’s favorite songs as we celebrate his life and love of community. We hope to see you there!
