¡Gracias, Mexico City! 🇲🇽

Members of the AnnieCannons team attended the TIP Global Summit, joining survivor leaders, researchers, advocates, and policymakers from around the world.

One of the highlights was hearing from some of the most innovative research projects and RTCs from all over the world, including Stanford’s Human Trafficking Data Lab. It was inspiring to see how data and rigorous research are deepening our understanding of trafficking and informing more effective responses. Thank you to the organizers and everyone who made this gathering possible. To our new connections: let’s keep the conversation going! 💜

We're thrilled to share that AnnieCannons has been selected for Morgan Stanley's Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures (MSISV) 2026 Global Cohort! And what a way to kick things off. During the program's first week, AnnieCannons was featured on the NASDAQ Tower in Times Square. AnnieCannons lighting up one of the most iconic screens in the world is a moment we won't forget!!

For the next five months, we'll have access to hands on mentorship from Entrepreneurs-in-Residence, a curated curriculum, and Morgan Stanley's global network, all in service of scaling our mission. We are grateful for the incredible opportunities and to be surrounded by such an inspiring cohort of fellow entrepreneurs.

Thank you to Morgan Stanley Inclusive & Sustainable Ventures for this investment! We are excited for what the next five months will bring, starting in Times Square and concluding with a Demo Day in February 2027.

This is our biggest admissions cycle yet - we have more applicants than ever before!

We accepted 21 new students for the fall cohort. The AnnieCannons team also updated enrollment readiness process for those students using the new AC Learning Management System. The process focuses on supporting students to thoughtfully prepare for the start of the cohort with attention given to time management, intentional planning, and an intro to online learning while also giving an early introduction to the platform they will be using throughout their time as a student in the program.

The Spectris Foundation is AnnieCannons first UK-based supporter and focuses on enhancing and improving access to quality education and discovery for learners and educators in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); to empower students from all backgrounds. The Spectris Foundation is working on helping AnnieCannons thoughtfully incorporate Ethical AI into our training as well as build new learning pathways in cybersecurity. Cheerio!

Nothing matters more to us than this: students finishing their training and stepping into paid, sustainable tech careers. This quarter, students moved into apprenticeship placements with private-sector tech companies as well as tech-enabled nonprofits including Wellthy, Data Theorem, Beneficial Computing, and Evidencity.

Every placement represents someone who has completed our training successfully, interviewed, joined a company’s tech team, and built something new for themselves. We couldn’t be more proud of their success!

Such an honor to be a 2026 grantee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association’ Foundation! Our CEO, Laura Hackney, was able to join a stellar group of community leaders in Washington DC addressing human trafficking across the hospitality industry. Last week, our conversations focused on new technology advancements, survivor-centered leadership, cross-border collaboration, and new job opportunities. We are building more partnerships with companies in the hotel industry to build pathways for our apprenticeship programs.

Big shoutout to Allies Against Slavery, Elevate Academy, Polaris, Parasol Cooperative, Survivor Alliance, RestoreNYC, Empowered Network, Wellspring Living, 3 Strands Global, New Friends New Life, and many others! We are delighted to share that Catie Hart has been named a finalist for the 2026 Anita Borg Impact Award.

For nearly seven years, Catie has been a survivor-leader at AnnieCannons, advancing from Teaching Assistant to Director of Learning and Technology. AnnieCannons equips survivors of human trafficking with skills for careers in software engineering, data, and AI. A visionary in both education and technology, Catie leads AnnieCannons' design, build-out, and adoption of tools and systems that make this work possible.

The Anita Borg Impact Awards honor distinguished leaders whose work reflects Dr. Anita Borg's vision of using technology to improve the world, recognizing innovators and technical leaders whose contributions advance technology, strengthen communities, and expand opportunity across the global tech ecosystem.

Catie's nomination speaks to the depth of her impact and the values she brings to this work every day. We could not be prouder to see her recognized among this year's honorees.

We're proud to share a partnership update between the Kering Foundation and AnnieCannons!

For over 15 years, the Kering Foundation has worked to end violence against women and children, supporting more than 1 million survivors through partnerships with over 100 nonprofit organizations across France, Italy, Korea, Mexico, the UK, and the US.

We know that economic independence changes what's possible. At AnnieCannons, we are excited and honored to receive support from the Kering Foundation, and to continue to invest in a future where survivors are defined by their potential.

🎉 We just graduated our largest Tech Career Foundations class to date!

Every student in this cohort put in the work, pushed through a demanding program, and built real, marketable skills (like algorithmic thinking, AI ethics, navigating the tech industry, and advanced Google Workplace certifications). These are the kind of skills that open doors to stable, well paying careers.

This milestone means more students are going to be able to step into the tech industry with confidence and a plan for what comes next.

Congratulations to our students who will now be diving into our next advanced class. We're proud of how far you've come, and we can't wait to see what you build.
