At the January A&S Meeting, Mr. Tom Carr, Treasurer of the GCPS Foundation, distributed the first round of checks to schools. The funds were received from a family trust. The funds were designated to help children in need. Initially, each school received a check totaling $1,000. Once that is spent, the principal may ask for more. Families receiving assistance will remain anonymous, but the GCPS Foundation will collect receipts to ensure that the money is being spent according to the family's wishes.
