Oakland is strongest when we show up for one another.

Thank you, , for donating 120 shirts to our Earth Day volunteers. Your gift helped us celebrate the hundreds of community members who spent their day planting, cleaning, beautifying, and caring for Oakland.

Because of partners like Oaklandish, volunteerism feels valued, community pride grows stronger, and our city becomes more beautiful every day.

We’re grateful to have you standing alongside us in service to Oakland. 💚

Special shoutout to Dan and the YEP Team - shown here in action - watering our new Oak, Olive AND Magnolia 🌳 trees to keep them alive and make them thrive! 🫶🏽 Their natural beauty has attracted lovely butterflies 🦋 thank you for creating Oakland’s newest leaders in land stewardship!

Keep Oakland Beautiful recognizes and thanks Pacific Gas & Electric Company for its generous sponsorship of California ReLeaf‘s Growing Green Communities Grant Program, which made our LOVEOAK Corridor Tree Planting at 1600 East 12th Street project possible. Volunteers mulched 15,000 square feet of totally degraded median landscape and planted 14 trees, and hundreds of plants. Thanks to Trees for Oakland, E12th St Reimagined, Herman Yee, and the hundreds of Ballunteers, GoServe/CCAC fellows, and more who showed up for Oakland for our 2026 Earth Month events!

We also want to thank and recognize CAL FIRE and the USDA Forest Service, which support urban and community tree-planting efforts throughout California through funding, education, and other resources.

Two incredible murals. One powerful reminder:

Community is built by people who care enough to show up.

Thank you to City of Oakland employee “Erase”who donated his own personal time and materials to create one of these beautiful works of art — and to who’s 50+ amazing volunteers installed a city blocked sized mural for the community.

These murals bring beauty, pride, and hope to our neighborhoods and show what’s possible when people work together.

Oakland is full of people doing extraordinary things quietly every single day. We’re grateful for all of you.

International SHOWED UP for East Oakland ! Local 3 volunteers from as far away as Tracy, Santa Rosa, Fremont and all over the Bay Area convened for a day of action to plant, paint and pickup litter at +18 Acre Arroyo Viejo Park & Recreation Center. These before and after pix are just a sampling of all the work they did to beautify the park. Neighbors joined in and were grateful for all of the community support. With ice cream, tamales, and music it was a vibe. Thank you D6 Council Member Kevin Jenkins for coming through and Public Works M. Tovar + Adopt A Spot + Mr. Clay for letting us do this work! Looking forward to our next collab with you!
