TSE is an California non-profit community service organization whose mission is to provide services that empower low-income families in order to change their lifestyles. ifestyles. The concept driving TSE is based on the philosophy: “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” The general principle of alleviating poverty by facilitating self-sufficiency has a long history. The 12th-century philosopher Maimonides wrote about eight degrees in the duty of charity. The highest form of charity is helping them find employment or establish themselves in business so as to make it unnecessary for them to become dependent on others.
