We are proud to share a new multi-state evaluation of Legal Link’s Legal First Aid® Certification Training, conducted in California, Michigan, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. The training led to very large gains in participants’ legal knowledge and confidence, with 91% reporting stronger legal skills and 91% saying they were very or extremely satisfied. The Net Promoter Score was 79—a “world-class” rating compared to an average of 32 in the legal sector.
The evaluation shows that frontline staff can quickly strengthen their legal skills and better recognize civil legal issues. This data points toward Legal First Aid as a form of legal empowerment education: shifting people’s attitudes, knowledge, and confidence toward not just legal information, but what they can do with that information—not as legal professionals, but as everyday people acting as trusted helpers in their community.
