UAOS and OUSD agreed to conduct a Joint Study on salary and compensation comparables.
Key Finding #2: UAOS members’ take home pay is not competitive.
The study found that even with benefits factored in, UAOS members are paid, on average, 14% below comparable neighboring districts.
Base pay for APs, Principals, and Central Administrators is also significantly below the average across peer districts.
This is about more than numbers. Competitive compensation helps retain experienced leaders in Oakland schools.
