A Playdate for the Imagination
We invite you and your family to join us on February 22 & 23, 2020 at the Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland for an amazing weekend of international films, animation workshops and special events. Join us as we explore our theme, The Power of Kids. Meet filmmakers, create your own animated film, and connect with friends and family at our 12th annual Bay Area International Children's Film Festival (BAICFF).
MISSION: BAICFF presents engaging, culturally diverse films and education programs for children and families. The festival is an annual Playdate for the Imagination™ where education and imagination collide. Our programming inspires creativity and connection, and offers cultural exchange through cinematic storytelling.
VISION: We believe the art of filmmaking builds empathy and fosters social cohesion. By presenting films from six continents, BAICFF connects children and families to the world’s varied cultures and traditions.
HISTORY: BAICFF has produced eleven annual festivals presenting 600 wonderful family-friendly films from around the world for an audience of over 13,000 people. 1,300 children have participated in our hands-on workshops designed to introduce kids to the world of animation and live-action filmmaking.
