We are deeply saddened to share the news that our President/CEO John Tanzella passed away yesterday after an extended illness. For 20 years, John led IGLTA with compassion, vision, and enormous heart.

His unwavering commitment to advancing LGBTQ+ travel steered IGLTA to become the well-respected international organization that it is today; his generosity of spirit was the key driver in creating our philanthropic IGLTA Foundation.

At IGLTA, we often refer to our global community as family, and John truly made that a reality. He built a deeply connected team that has been leading the association alongside a passionate board of directors during his absence.

We will ensure that the association he loved so much continues to grow and thrive.

Celebrating Pride, Partnership & Impact 🤩

We're proud to highlight the first edition of the Soirée des Fiertés, co-organised and hosted by Accor Group’s LGBTQ+ & Allies ERG Together and Air France’s Personn’ailes.

Bringing together more than 500 participants, the evening celebrated diversity, inclusion and allyship, while also creating meaningful impact through a raffle that raised over €1,800 in support of Sidaction.

Congratulations to Accor, Air France / Transavia / HOP! and all partners involved for creating a powerful space where visibility, joy and solidarity come together.

Last week, our Membership Manager for India & Asia, Parth Sarathi Patnaik (he/him), represented IGLTA at the PATA Travel Mart (PTM2025). 🌏

Alongside leaders from Booking.com, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), and Travel Unity, Parth joined the panel “Inclusive Travel – Building Welcoming Journeys for All” at the PATA Knowledge Forum, to explore how destinations and businesses are evolving to serve the full spectrum of travellers including LGBTQ+ travellers in Asia Pacific.
