Tonight's the night!! We hope to see everyone out to support the boys basketball team and hang out with their favorite local superheros 🦸‍♂️!!

Remember kiddos can dress up as their favorite first responder or health care professional and their name will be put in a drawing for this goody basket! JV boys starts at 5:30, see you there!

We hope everyone is staying warm during these last few cold days! Our next officer introduction is our Treasurer, Brittany Jorgenson!

During the day she works as a Financial Service Specialist Team Lead!

When she's not working or running with her kids and family she enjoys reading, writing, cross-stitch, and being outdoors!

She joined the auxiliary because she wanted to support our local volunteer fire fighters in a meaningful and impactful way while also connecting to community engagement!

We are looking for more members!! If you are a family member of a past or present fire fighter you are eligible to join! Another way to gain membership is to be sponsored by a firefighter! Either way, please reach out we'd love to have you!

Our next officer introduction is our 2026 Vice President, Katelyn Scheffert!

Her day job is being a radiologic technologist at the CHI Oakes Hospital.

In her free time, she enjoy outdoor activities, gardening, and working on new projects of any kind so she can learn new skills.

She joined the Auxiliary to be able to support her husband and his fellow volunteer firefighters. She had always tried to be helpful at events they were hosting but felt that more could be done. "When Anna and I were asked to set up the organization, I was thankful to have a friend to do this with!" - Katelyn

Calling all kiddos!!!! In just a few short weeks we are hosting Super Hero night at the boys basketball game here in Oakes!! The old gym will be full of games, coloring, and hanging out with the superhero's of our community. We hope to see you there!

Happy New Year! 2026 will be the first full year of operation for the Oakes Fire Auxiliary! To kick off our first full year, we are going to introduce our officer team to the community and let them know a little bit about each person.

So to kick it off:
This is Anna Schaefer, the 2026 Auxiliary President!

During the day she works as a Medical Laboratory Technician at CHI here in Oakes, as well as just starting to work as a Financial Service Specialist at FCCU!

Her hobbies include quilting, decorating, and baking!

She helped start the Auxiliary along with Katelyn and wanted to join because she wanted to fill a need in the community and try to be more active in the first responder community! Her husband recently joined and she wanted to help support him and his fellow volunteers.

Santa has offically completed his end of the deal by delivering gifts for the First Noel Event!! Thank you to the community for the outpouring support for this event as well as the First Responders coming together to es**rt Santa!

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the First Noel with Oakes First Responders 2025! We only have 5 gifts remaining to be purchased on the wish list! In order to have the gifts wrapped in time for delivery, the deadline to purchase a gift will be this Friday, December 12th. The deadline for donating for Oakes Bucks is December 15th. Thank you again for helping make some holiday cheer for those in our community!

With the holiday season quickly approaching, we'd like to share the link to the Amazon Wishlist for the First Noel with Oakes First Responders. You can help bring joy to children and families facing financial hardships or other difficulties this holiday season by purchasing an item on the wish list. Items on the list were picked out for a child in our community and will be shipped to town, wrapped by some local elves, and delivered by Oakes First Responders.

Oakes Bucks can also be purchased and donated to families so they can shop at local businesses and select gifts. If you would like to donate for the Oakes Bucks, please contact Kausha Magill at the Oakes Chamber office at 701-742-3508 before December 15th.

On December 21st, some of the Oakes First Responders will es**rt Santa and Mrs. Claus to deliver gifts and donated Oakes Bucks to the families.

Please join us in helping to spread some holiday cheer to families in our community, and thank you for your continued support.

Calendars have arrived!!! The auxiliary member that sold you your calendar will deliver it in whichever way you indicated when you ordered.

This also means we get to draw for the fire blanket!! Congratulations Vickie Jorgenson!! We will get that to you with your calendar.

If you missed out on the pre-order we do still have calendars available for sale so please reach out if you'd like one. And again thank you all for your support, it means the world to our volunteer fire fighters!

October 6th-10th is National Fire Prevention Week!
Fun Fact: National Fire Prevention week was inspired by the Great Chicago Fire of 1871!
Every year there is a new theme and this year is all about lithium-ion batteries and how they can be extremely dangerous if used improperly.

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, anyone who orders one of our calendars will get their name in a drawing for a fire blanket! These are extremely useful in the case of any kind of small fire. They're extremely easy to use and a great resource for kids who may not know how to use a fire extinguisher.

We are currently doing preorder for the calendars until October 21st- if you preorder your calendar you will get $5 off the original $20 price!
