Here's something worth sitting with this week.

The question isn't whether God is speaking. He is. The real question is
whether we're listening to what he has already said.

We ask God for direction while the Bible sits on the nightstand. We look
for signs while ignoring the word. We reach for podcasts and friends that
confirm what we already want to hear. We're not waiting on God. We're
avoiding what he's already said.

This Sunday we looked at Elijah in 2 Kings 1, and the thing that stood out
most was this: his defining characteristic wasn't miracles or boldness.
It was obedience. He heard God's word. He trusted it. He did it.
