I just want to say thank you to everyone who spoke in support of flying the Pride Flag during the month of June at Oak Harbor City council. Your voices, courage, and willingness to stand up for your neighbors mattered today.

I’m deeply sorry to anyone who had to hear the hateful comments that were made, or who feels hurt and discouraged by the decision not to raise the flag.

I hope you know that today only reinforces why Oak Harbor Pride is needed. Visibility matters. Representation matters. Community matters.

To our LGBTQ+ neighbors, friends, family members, and youth: you are seen, you are valued, and you belong here.

Oak Harbor Pride isn’t going anywhere. We will continue showing up, creating space, and supporting our LGBTQ+ community for years to come. Today may not have been the outcome we hoped for, but our commitment to this community remains stronger than ever. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Oak Harbor Pride Day has arrived! Thank you to Feather and Fox for creating this beautiful banner for us! The skies will be clearing as the day warms up to just 55 degrees, but with no wind! Don't forget to pack a chair or something to sit on. See you all there!

Only two more days until Oak Harbor Pride! Be sure to pack a chair or blanket to sit on and perhaps a picnic dinner to enjoy while listening to folks share what Pride means to them. Don't forget that there is a drag show at 'Megan's' (formerly 'Off the Hook') at 9 pm for those over the age of 21!

As we get closer to our Oak Harbor Pride event, I just want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who has supported us and helped make this event possible.

This may only be our second year, and we’re still growing and learning, but it’s already been such a beautiful experience connecting with so many incredible people throughout our community. The kindness, encouragement, and enthusiasm we’ve received have meant more than you know.

We’re truly excited for June 6th and feel incredibly grateful for every person who chooses to show up, participate, and help create a space where everyone is welcome, seen and appreciated. Thank you for being part of it. We can’t wait to celebrate with you. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Calling all Oak Harbor LGBTQ+ folks and allies! Come join us at Oak Harbor's City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 2nd at 5:30 pm. We are asking the city council to fly the Pride flag at City Hall and Flintstone Park during June! Come say a few words about why this is important to you or simply show up to support us!
