According to BreastCancer.org, a woman’s risk of breast cancer nearly doubles if she has a first-degree relative (for example, their mother, sister, or daughter) who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Approximately 15% of women who get breast cancer have a family member diagnosed with it.

Early detection helps save lives. The recommended age to begin getting mammograms is 40, unless there is family history.

👒 It was a honor and privilege to have award-winning designer of haute couture hats and fascinators for women, Dianne Isbell in attendance for this year’s Tea for the TaTas!!

Isbell has designed hats for the likes of Lady Gaga, won numerous awards at the Forest Park Forever Hat Luncheon and at the world renowned New York Fashion Week, for her creations.

She shared with us how she got her start in the hat making business. Her sister, who was diagnosed with cancer at young age, requested she make a hat for her. After this one request, Isbell hasn’t stopped designing.

Her main goal is to design creations for everyone. “My goal isn’t to make hats just for famous people but for all of us, for all people,” she said.

We’re still on a high from this past weekend’s event!!

One of the most exciting things we did this year — we gave out the inaugural Legacy of Hope Scholarship to one deserving individual. The recipient was unable to attend; but her mother came in her place. She enjoyed the afternoon with us and accepted the scholarship.

This is only the beginning and we hope the Legacy of Hope Scholarship grows just as Tea for the TaTas continues to grow!

💗 Gratitude Beyond Measure – Tea for the TaTas: The Crown Edition 👑 💗

What an incredible day filled with grace, strength, and sisterhood. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for everyone who attended Tea for the TaTas and helped make this event so meaningful. There are SO many who sewed into this event to whom I must extend HUGE thank-yous BUT I don’t want to miss anyone so I am writing a list and you will hear from me soon. I simply needed to say “Thank You” to everyone immediately. Photos coming soon!

My heart runneth over with joy💕

Yesterday, we celebrated survivors, honored those we’ve lost, and reminded one another that beauty, courage, and faith can coexist even in the face of adversity. Our guest speaker, Dr. Richard Doss, made us think when he said that we are ALL going through something…while it may not be breast cancer…we are all doing life (I paraphrased).

Darius Bradford made us laugh hysterically.

Your presence and support brought life to the vision and purpose behind this event — to uplift, to educate, and to inspire.
