SOAR SWIM & STEM is at it again with its 2023 iFLY STEM EXPERIENCE!!!

📢 TEACHERS and PARENTS OF STUDENTS IN GRADES 2-5…LISTEN UP!!! 📢

Teachers, do you have a 2nd-5th grader that would be a good fit for or significantly benefit from the iFLY STEM Experience? In partnership with iFLY Detroit, the 501c3 nonprofit organization, SOAR SWIM & STEM, is sponsoring 20-24 students in the metro Detroit area to participate based on teacher recommendations. Parents, are you interested in your student participating? Discuss with your student’s teacher to see if your student qualifies for a recommendation.

Not quite sure what the iFLY STEM Experience is? Visit https://soarswimandstem.org/events and click on iFLY STEM Experience for criteria, details, program info and link to complete the Recommendation Form. Recommending teachers will be notified if their student was selected on Thursday, June 8, 2023. Students not selected for this session will be added to the waitlist for the July or August session as funding permits.

The last day to recommend a student is 11:59P EST, Friday, June 2, 2023. So don’t delay!! Recommend a deserving 2nd-5th grader TODAY!!!

SOAR SWIM & STEM is at it again, and we need your help!

On Father’s Day, 13 of Detroit Public Schools Community District 2nd-5th graders soared new heights with the iFLY STEM Experience. Our goal is to raise $1750 by July 31st to help up to 25 more students do the same on August 21, 2022.

We’re also super excited to launch our ‘Build-a-PC’ workshop where 4th and 5th graders learn how tooo…drumroll…build their own computers!!! In the effort to support 10 students for our first session, our goal is to raise $17,500 for hardware, the instructor fees and a location.

If you are willing to sow a seed to help SOAR SWIM & STEM in its mission to help elementary students build a solid foundation, interest and self-confidence in STEM while helping to lessen the underrepresentation of minorities in STEM fields, then don’t hesitate…DONATE!!

Thirteen of the brightest 2nd-5th grade students, one awesome Math teacher, and one phenomenal Dad represented some of the best of and . The first session of SS&S’s iFLY STEM Experience was a HUGE success and will likely be one outside of the classroom that they’ll never forget. Won’t you help sponsor 15-25 more for the next session on August 21, 2022?

SUPER EXCITED!!! In just four more days, 15 2nd-5th graders representing some of the best and brightest of from Bates Academy, Charles H Wright Academy, Coleman A Young Elementary, Davison Elementary and Ronald Brown Academy, by the recommendation of their teachers, get to SOAR in STEM as pioneers of our new partnership with !! It will be an experience they remember for a lifetime!!
