It's back to school time across Ohio, and we just thought everyone should know that 17-year olds who are going to be 18 by Election Day, November 3, can register today. Like, right now.

Go voteohio.gov to get registered, or send the almost 18-year olds in your life that way before the October 5 voter registration deadline.

We are honored to be part of this celebration! Hope to see you there!

We are honored to be part of this celebration! Hope to see you there!

In honor of Women’s Equality Day next Wednesday, August 26, all are invited to step into an important chapter of our nation’s history during the dedication of a new Ohio Historical Marker at South Newbury Union Chapel - National Register of Historic Places!

This marker, the site's second, recognizes the remarkable story of the Centennial Oak, planted in 1876 by members of the Newbury Woman Suffrage Political Club during the nation's centennial celebration (pictured).

South Newbury Union Chapel, located at 15829 Ravenna Road, is owned by the public and managed by a three-member board of trustees. The chapel is situated on property owned and stewarded by Geauga Park District. Visitors can arrive to August 26's marker dedication as early as 5:30 p.m., and the ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Because osite parking is limited, please arrive early or utilize overflow parking at Faith Baptist Church, less than a mile south at 12010 Snow Road, and a free shuttle service. We look forward to seeing you!

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States.

On June 19, 1865, Union soldiers announced to enslaved persons in Texas that the US Civil War had ended and that they had been freed from bo***ge by the Emancipation Proclamation two years earlier.

However, the fight for Black liberation was not resolved with the end of slavery and the close of the US Civil War. Today, we continue to fight and work towards justice and equality for all.
