🎣 Another lovely session for our Hooked Line and Seniors fishing group! 🐟

We had a change of location this month and headed to Sapphire lakes near Newark. Nathan the owner spoilt us by letting us have the number 1 lake to ourselves!

It has a mixture of fish, and early on the guys were pulling out some very impressive fish. Perch around 2lb were being caught close in on single maggot, then a stunning bream was caught on waggler with maggot again. Carp were being tempted out by the classic sweetcorn, and some lovely skimmers took the trusty pink wafter.

We were treated to a lovely day with the weather - a surprise now we are heading into the winter!

📅 Our next meet-up is Tuesday 3rd November | 10:30am at Shelt Hill Farm and Fisheries. If you are over 65, and fancy giving fishing a go, we’d love to hear from you! Get in touch to find out more and join us for our next session🎣😊

A new Dementia Hub is launching at Carlton Forum Leisure Centre on Wednesday 14th October | 10am-2pm, developed by Gedling Borough Council and Alzheimer's Society.

The hub offers a relaxed, welcoming space where people can:
💬 Access guidance and support
🤝 Meet others with shared experiences
☕ Enjoy a cuppa and refreshments

You can drop in for as little or as long as you like throughout the four-hour session. There’s no need for a referral or official documentation – just come along!

Residents can team up with skilled experts to see if their belongings can be repaired, reused and given a new lease of life. 🌱
