On behalf of the Ladies of Norwood Christmas Town, we pay our respects to our sister, Jackie Osterman.

You are forever in our hearts & the City of Norwood for your life of service.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen🕊️

First, thank you to all who have reach out about our previous announcement. We know CT was loved by many.

We wanted to do a quick follow up:
Christmas Town has always been hosted by Norwood Business & Professional Women's Club. We have worked to keep CT free to the public every year from fundraising, donations, and sponsors. However, our funds, volunteers, NBPWC members, and CT committee members have got smaller and smaller every year. We just cannot fund a fully free event any longer.

If you are wanting to help in the community, consider joining NBPWC and help with our other community efforts.

We wanted to let everyone know that unfortunately Norwood Christmas Town will not be taking place this year or in the future. The group that has planned this event for the last 10+ years has retired.

Thank you all for so many great years of celebrating the holiday season with us in the wonderful City of Norwood.

'Twas the night before Norwood Christmas Town when all through the city,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;
The Middle School field house & Big White tent is filled with holiday delights;
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be at The Ventura
The children in Norwood were nestled all snug in their beds;
While visions of horse carriages and Carousel’s danced in their heads;
When out on the Elm & Station tomorrow there will arise such a clatter,
We will spring from our beds to see what was the matter.
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny rein-deer,
With a little old driver so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment he must be St. Nick.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name:
"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! on, Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"
As leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky;
So up to the Ventura housetop the coursers they flew
With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too—
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As we drew in our head, and was turning around,
Running over to The Ventura, St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,
And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a pedler just opening his pack.
His eyes—how they twinkled! his dimples, how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the beard on his chin was as white as the snow;
The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,
And the smoke, it encircled his head like a wreath;
He had a broad face and a little round belly
That shook when he laughed, like a bowl full of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;
He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the Ventura chimney he rose;
He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight—
“Happy Christmas to all in Norwood, and to all a good night!”

See you tomorrow!
