There are many opportunities to help or volunteer with Supporting and Helping Asylees and Refugees - SHARe! If you have time in the next couple of weeks, the SHARe team would love to hear from you! Email us at [email protected].
Join a family support team - There are many dimensions to the team’s work, with things arising every day. As a part of the team, you can choose activities that happen consistently or jump in when that extra hand or caring conversation is needed.
Rides - Occasional rides to work, early mornings, evenings, and weekends, when Advance Transit doesn’t run. Also, medical appointments, social activities, and shopping, where you would stay alongside the newcomer.
Healthcare accompaniment - Join experienced team members to help newcomers navigate our complex and changing system of care (and payment for that care).
English lessons - Opportunities with adults and children, early beginners, and more advanced.
Shopping or social connections - Help with shopping, accompany kids to the Montshire, enjoy a meal together (for example, see below, next Sunday’s meal at First Congregational Church in Lebanon!)
Material needs - Needs are occurring all the time, and so often, a neighbor in the community has just the thing or a helpful connection. Usually seasonal clothing and household items. Right now, we’re seeking a low-cost or donated minivan to accommodate a family of 6. If you have a car or a connection, please reach out!
Donate - Financial support is always put right to work, directly supporting new neighbors and building community. Recurring gifts are especially helpful. Donate at sharevtnh.org
