The National Society Daughters o

f the American Revolution (NSDAR) is a national women’s service organization of over 190,000 members in nearly 3,000 chapters in the United States and 14 countries, that encourages patriotism, promotes historic preservation, and provides educational opportunities for children and adults. The volunteer work of the DAR is accomplished through a partnership between the national, state, and chapter organizations. Through membership at these levels, members have an opportunity to promote the work of the organization in their local communities in which they work and live. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove her lineal descent from a patriot who gave aid or was a soldier in the American Revolution, is eligible for membership in the National Society.
