Summer has a way of bringing out the best in people — sunshine, laughter, long evenings, and those songs that instantly take you back. And sometimes… those songs show up in the most unexpected places. Like at our Outdoor 3rd Degree. During the break, our “instrument Brother” pulled out his guitar — because of course he did — and started strumming “A Horse With No Name.” Those first few chords drifted across the field, and every older Brother within earshot suddenly remembered they were backup singers. He paused for a second, maybe thinking he’d stop. But I told him, “Oh no you don’t! Once you start with that tune, you can’t stop!” He laughed… and kept playing.
And just like that, the whole line chimed in — a bunch of grown men, boots in the dirt, harmonizing like it was 1972 again. A perfect summer moment. A perfect Masonic moment.
