Hosted by the Northbrook Sustainability Commission, the event will feature local organizations, sustainability resources, interactive activities, and ways to get involved in creating a greener community.

Join us for Northbrook Climate Action Day on Saturday, May 30 from 10am–1pm behind Village Hall as we celebrate World Environment Day alongside the Village of Northbrook, Illinois Sustainability Commission and other local sustainability partners!

Go Green Northbrook is hosting TWO tables at the event, and we’re looking for volunteers to help represent our organization throughout the day.

We especially need volunteers for our “Homeowners Table” where Northbrook residents can share real-life experiences with sustainable living, including:
• Solar panels
• EV ownership
• Induction stoves
• Native landscaping
• Energy efficiency upgrades and more

You do not need to be an expert. If you’ve made changes in your home or lifestyle and are willing to chat with neighbors about your experience, we’d love to have you join us.

Volunteer shifts are just one hour:

We hope everyone has had a nice and meaningful Earth Month! As April comes to a close, we wanted to share another great green disposal option that is available here in Northbrook.

Illinois' Paint Stewardship Program makes it easy to dispose of leftover paint safely. Residents can drop off paint at approved locations like Sherwin-Williams right in downtown Northbrook. Before heading over, be sure to call ahead to confirm accepted items and hours.

Village of Northbrook, Illinois's Sustainability Coordinator, Kate Carney, gave us an update on local sustainability initiatives last night at Go Green Northbrook's April Monthly Meeting! We were glad to have her back to wind down Earth Month and learn about all the great things Northbrook is up to. Thank you for all you do, Kate!
