ADHD is often misunderstood, and those misunderstandings can add shame for kids and families.

During ADHD Awareness Month, we’re making room for more accurate, compassionate conversations.

ADHD is not caused by bad parenting. It does not mean a child is lazy. And support can look different for every family.

When adults understand more, kids are more likely to feel supported instead of blamed.

Choices 2026 is a postsecondary planning event for students with learning differences, hosted at Glenbrook South High School on Tuesday, October 6.

Families can explore options, gather information, and start conversations about support beyond high school.

There’s something different about talking with someone who really understands. Parents Connect brings together small groups of parents and caregivers raising children who are navigating mental health challenges. It’s a place to talk honestly, hear from others walking similar paths, and leave with support, perspective, and sometimes a new idea for moving forward.

We currently offer groups for parents and caregivers of kids ages 6–13, teens ages 12–18, adult children 18+, and a group focused on eating disorders.

If this sounds like the kind of support you’ve been looking for, reach out. Groups are ongoing and you can join anytime.
