A few weeks into the school year, social routines may still feel uncertain.

Some kids reconnect quickly. Others need time, encouragement, or a low-pressure way back into friendships, clubs, and conversations.

Parents can help by noticing what feels hard, modeling small moments of connection, and giving kids space to practice without turning every interaction into a performance.

Small steps count: saying hello, joining one activity, texting a friend, or talking through a tricky moment afterward.

Parenting a child through mental health challenges can feel isolating, especially when it seems like the people around you don’t quite understand what your family is navigating.

That’s why CATCH created Parents Connect.

Our small, confidential groups bring parents and caregivers together for honest conversation, shared understanding, and support from people who get it.

Groups meet for one hour a week on Zoom and are led by parents with lived experience, not therapists.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Find your people.

On September 29, join CATCH for Beyond the Pressure, a screening of Try Harder! followed by a community conversation about youth, success, and well-being.

“I am alone.”

For one recent high school graduate, those words became a way to name what had been hidden for years: intrusive thoughts, invisible rituals, masking, and the quiet isolation of living with OCD before having the language to explain it.

In I Am Alone, the writer reflects on what it felt like to move through the world appearing “fine” while struggling internally, and how therapy helped create a path toward connection, progress, and being seen more fully.

For years, this student hid the weight of Contamination OCD, afraid of being seen as defective and unsure how to ask for help.

In When the Color Came Back, a recent high school graduate shares what it felt like to live inside fear, rituals, isolation, and silence, and what changed when they finally reached out for therapy.

This story is honest about how isolating OCD can be. It is also a reminder that help can change the way life feels. Color can come back.
