As we step into June, we are excited to celebrate women who are driving meaningful change in education. This month, we shine a spotlight on 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐛𝐨 𝐄𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐠, a trailblazer whose work perfectly aligns with Educate Young Girls’ mission of empowering and supporting girls’ education.

Lilian has dedicated her career to 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐧, focusing on access, mentorship, and advocacy. Through her initiatives, she has helped break down barriers that often prevent girls from staying in school-especially those from marginalized communities. From promoting mentorship programs to advocating for policies that keep girls in classrooms, Lilian’s work ensures that education is not just a dream but a tangible reality for many young girls.

Her commitment to empowerment mirrors our own at Educate Young Girls, where we champion programs that support adolescent mothers, provide mentorship, and build pathways for girls to thrive academically and personally.

Did you know that millions of girls miss school every year because they lack access to menstrual products or safe spaces to manage their periods? This barrier has nothing to do with ability - and everything to do with inequality.

At Educate Young Girls, we believe that periods should never stand in the way of a girl’s education. Through our initiatives, we provide menstrual hygiene education, distribute sanitary products, and create safe, stigma-free spaces for girls to learn and thrive.

💡 When girls have the knowledge, confidence, and resources to manage their health, they stay in school-and go further in life.

Digital tools are transforming education, and girls in Cameroon are no exception. From integrating technology into lessons to fully incorporating it into the curriculum, these tools are 𝐮𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡.

At 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬, we leverage digital solutions like 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐬𝐀𝐩𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐬 to create supportive networks where girls never feel isolated. These connections foster mentorship, peer learning, and emotional support, helping young girls navigate educational and personal challenges. By feeling part of a community, they become more confident, engaged, and motivated to continue learning, even in difficult circumstances.

Through these digital tools, girls access educational content, mentorship, guidance, homework support, and safe spaces for questions - making learning 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥✨.
