For this week's , meet Gretchen Burnett! Gretchen was diagnosed with MS in March 28, 2012. She was scared of the unknown and purchased every book she could find on MS. She learned everything she could and educated herself and the others around her. She made the courageous decision to celebrate the day of her diagnosis, rather than let it remind her of the hardships she's faced. She dubbed it her "Re-birthday." She is now an admin for an all female MS group where she mentors newly diagnosed patients. Her goal is to be an inspiration for those struggling with this awful disease. September 17, 2018 was her husband's 1 year anniversary of his liver transplant. She went from being cared for to being a caregiver. The year prior to the transplant was the most difficult and emotional journey she's ever gone through, but her and her husband made it through together. Her positivity and inspiration to support others is why we have chosen her as feature of the week!

Today's feature is a huge inspiration in the MS community, meet Mary Jordan! Mary, a native from upstate New York, has been an equestrian her whole life. She started riding as a child, and quickly developed a love of multiple different horse sports. Mary was familiar with the effects of MS even before her own diagnosis, after looking after her father, a quadriplegic living with MS. In 2002, she became the third person in her family to be diagnosed with MS, leaving her unable to walk for a period of time. Like many of our features, Mary did not let this deter her from continuing to do what she loved. She is an experienced, hardworking competitor and has her sights set on representing team USA at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. She will also be competing in the US Dressage Regional Championships with an eye on competing at the US finals. Mary is also a public advocate and motivational speaker for Multiple Sclerosis.

Her spirit and mindset to continue pursuing what you love despite her diagnosis is why we have chosen her as feature of the week!
