🧡 The Advocacy Leadership Network's new Empowering Health & Wellness sessions kick off next week, October 13, and registration is still open!

We'll start by exploring four important areas of health: physical, nutritional, behavioral, and mental health. Participants will learn how these areas are connected and how understanding them can help us make informed decisions about our health and well-being.

Whether you're looking to build your knowledge, strengthen your self-advocacy skills, or take a more active role in your health, we'd love to have you join us!

What makes someone a leader? 💭
During our second Advocacy Leadership Network (ALN) 3.0 session, participants explored that question together — and one thing became clear: leadership isn’t about having a title. It’s about how you show up.

Together, participants created a leadership vision board filled with qualities like communication, kindness, curiosity, inclusion, empathy, patience, and a willingness to learn from others. Then, they turned the conversation inward, identifying their own leadership strengths and choosing one skill they want to practice and strengthen over the next 10 months.

Next up: exploring different leadership styles and some of the key issues facing Indiana’s disability community.

And it’s not too late to join us! Our next session is October 20 and thanks to a grant from MolinaCares Accord and Molina Healthcare, participation is available at no cost.

For people with disabilities, employment success should mean having choices.

This means there is no "one right path." What matters more is having the opportunity to pursue meaningful work, develop strengths, and pursue goals.

This October, for National Disability Employment Awareness Month, we're looking beyond simply getting hired and exploring the bigger questions, like:

- Are there opportunities for people with disabilities to do work that matches their interests and talents?
- Are they earning competitive wages?
- Are they receiving opportunities for professional development?
- Are they getting more responsibility and able to earn leadership roles?
- Do they have the same opportunity to build a career as anyone else?
