🕯️ International Wave of Light – October 15th

Tonight at 7pm, we’re inviting you to join us in lighting a candle in memory of all babies gone too soon.

Every year on October 15th, people around the world light candles at 7pm in their local time, creating a wave of light that travels across the globe.

We’ll be lighting ours for Charli Mae and all the babies who are loved, missed and remembered every day.

Whether you’ve experienced loss yourself, know someone who has, or simply want to show your support, we’d love for you to take a moment and join us.

If you’re lighting a candle tonight, please feel free to share a photo or your baby’s name in the comments. We’d love to remember them with you. ❤️

The fourth Charli Mae Shield is in the books and thank you so much to everyone who came along on what was an incredibly special day for all involved.

Congratulations Féileacáin Fathers for winning the shield and also to Jacob, Luis and Jor-El who are the first ever goal scorers for Bear FC.

$9400 has been raised today for the foundation and we’re incredibly thankful to all for their continued support!

Today marks the beginning of Baby Loss Awareness Week, October 9–15. 💗💙

For many parents and families, the loss of a baby is something they carry with them every single day, regardless of how much time has passed.

This week is about remembering those babies, acknowledging the families who miss them, and helping to break the silence that so often surrounds pregnancy and infant loss.

It’s also a reminder that while we may not always know what to say to someone who has experienced loss, simply acknowledging their child and remembering their name can mean more than we realize.

Through the Charli Mae Foundation, we hope to continue raising awareness, supporting families, and making sure no parent feels alone in their grief.

This week, as always, we remember our Charli Mae and all the babies who are loved and missed every day.

Different names. Different stories. One shared purpose. ❤️

This Sunday, dads from Ireland and Chicago will come together for the 4th Annual Charli Mae Shield.

Some are playing in memory of their own children. Others are playing in support of every family affected by pregnancy and infant loss.

More than just a game of football, it’s about remembering our children, supporting one another, and showing families that they are not alone.

2025 and the Charli Mae Shield was back on Irish soil, this time at the home of football, Oriel Park.

Team Charli, made up of bereaved dads and members of the year one squad, took on a Dundalk FC Legends team that included multiple title winners.

A brilliant game played in great spirits ended with a bit of a giant killing, as Team Charli made it a hat-trick of Shield wins thanks to a late winner from captain Gary McCrudden.

This Sunday, one thing is guaranteed — a new name will lift the Charli Mae Shield.

Bear FC play their first ever game as a team against Féileacáin Fathers, who return for their second Shield appearance after playing in the very first game back in 2023.

2024 saw the 2nd annual Charli Mae Shield and the first to be played on US soil.

Team Charli, made up of friends of Charli’s parents, took on a team of parents from AYSO 300 in another closely contested game.

Nine goals later, Team Charli came away with a 5-4 win to keep hold of the Charli Mae Shield.

Another great day and another brilliant game played in Charli’s name. ❤️

With only a week to go until the 4th Charli Mae Shield, we look back to 2023 when Team Charli, made up of members of the Cootehill Harps Reserves 2015 Invincibles, took on Féileacáin Fathers, who travel to Chicago later this week.

A fantastic affair in Cootehill that ended in a 4-3 win for Team Charli.

Plenty of familiar faces, plenty of goals and a great day all round.
