Four years ago, the Charli Mae Shield as a way to bring people together to honor Charli through soccer.

On October 11th of this year, we will bring teams and families together at the Endeavor Health Fire Pitch for the 4th annual Charli Mae Shield, the first official flagship event for the Charli Mae Foundation.

This year we will be bringing together a team of dads from Ireland, represented by Feileacain Fathers v a Rest of the World XI, a team of dads and supporters of the foundation mission of looking out for those who have been through unimaginable loss.

We are currently looking for businesses and organizations who would like to partner with us and help continue growing this event.

The second dads soccer pick up takes place this Friday, June 12th from 6:30-7:30 at Veterans Park, North Riverside.

Established for bereaved dads, it’s an opportunity to get together with those who have shared similar experiences for a safe space to get active.

No soccer experience necessary, this is a welcoming place for those dads interested.

Following the pick up, we will also go to for a few drinks to watch the USA World Cup opening game.

More importantly, $480 of the funds raised has gone into the foundation which has pushed us over $3000 in money raised since we launched in December.

Money raised will go towards events that support parents who have experienced child loss ❤️

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💛

At the Charli Mae Foundation, we know that grief doesn’t follow a timeline. For families who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child, mental health isn’t just a conversation for one month, it’s something carried every single day.

This month, we want to gently remind anyone who is struggling: you are not alone. There is no “right way” to grieve and no expectation on how strong you should be. Some days will feel heavier than others and that’s okay.

Our mission is to build a space where stories can be shared, support can be found, and no one has to navigate loss in silence. Whether you’re in the depths of grief, supporting someone who is, or simply taking a moment to check in with yourself, your mental health matters.

If this month does anything, we hope it encourages more open conversations, more understanding, and more compassion, for others and for yourself.

We’re proud to launch the Charli Mae Foundation website.

It’s still in the early stages, with plenty more to come, but it marks an important step in building something meaningful. Its a place to support families, raise awareness, and drive real impact.

This day 12 months ago, Team Charli Mae caused a major upset by beating Dundalk FC legends 1-0 in Oriel Park in the Charli Mae Shield!

In less than 6 months, the 4th annual Charli Mae Shield will take place in Chicago and for the first time a new team name will be written on the shield when Féileacáin Fathers represent 🇮🇪 to take on a Rest of the World XI 🌎.
