Update on tryouts tonight (10/8):

8UA will be using WC1 from 6:30-8:00pm. There was a good turnout on our signup list, so be sure to check your girls in with Coach Boomer when you get there tonight. Coach Boomer and his assistants will determine the flow of the 8UA tryouts and we're excited to see everyone out there tonight!

10UK will be using WC2 from 6:30-8:00pm. Due to numbers of players registered, there was not enough interest to support having a second 10UK team. There are anticipated vacancies on the existing RYA Lady Hawks 10UK team for the All-Stars Tournaments and players will be drafted to that roster from the pool of players. Coach Andrew will be running the 10UK tryouts.

12U will not have tryouts in the traditional sense due to rainout games being rescheduled for tonight for both teams. Coach Pepper will be pulling from the 12U players signed up on the All-Stars tryouts form and will be using tonight's games to help make his roster decisions.

We look forward to seeing everyone out at the park tonight and wish our 12U teams the best of luck during their makeup games this evening!

Reminder - we have tryouts scheduled for our fall tournament teams this Thursday, October 8th!

Tournament Team Coach Selections:
12U - Coach Jon Pepper (Stingers)
10U-K - Coach Andrew Rivera (Lady Hawks)
10U-K - Coach James Davenport (Lady Raiders)
8U-A - Coach Boomer Pinkston (Longhorns)

Players must be signed up on the Google Form (link in FB comments) to tryout and tryouts are free. Multiple teams for single age-divisions are dependent upon player interest and skill level at the time of tryouts. If you have any 8U, 10U, or 12U players interested in playing tournaments this November, get them signed up today!

Colleyville Girls Softball Association informed us Colleyville City Park is now closed also. All games today are canceled. Rescheduled games will be posted tomorrow.

Field update for tomorrow, Saturday (10/3).

Walker's Creek Park is closed and all games will be rescheduled. Updates will be made as soon as possible.

Games scheduled for Colleyville City Park are currently pending. CGSA will provide updates tonight and/or tomorrow morning on their field status.

We're very glad to get the rain, but it was too much for the fields to handle in that short of a time.

10/01/2026

Due to this morning's (much needed) rainfall, our fields are closed for tonight. Check with your coaches in case they have alternative plans set up for practices this evening.

We will be in contact with NRH Parks and Recreation and Colleyville Girls Softball Association to determine the field status for this weekend's games. Once we have updates for Saturday, we'll let coaches and parents know.

RYA Softball is excited to be offering tournament team opportunities for girls within our 8U-12U age divisions this fall!

We will be hosting tryouts on Thursday, October 8th from 6:30-8:00pm at Walker's Creek Park.

WC1 - 8UA Tryouts
WC2 - 10UK Tryouts
WC3 - 12U Tryouts

Tryouts are FREE for all RYA players. Parents of players who make the team will receive information on paying the $150 invoice, which includes a jersey, socks, belts, practice field rentals, and team tournament entry fees.

Girls may tryout for the age division they are currently playing in or a higher age division, but they are unable to tryout for a lower age division. Any girls in the 6U age bracket are eligible to tryout for the 8U tournament team if they are interested. (This does not include 5U players on the 6U team.)

Important Notes:
- During tournaments, rules for 8U will follow the 8U-A (Advanced Rec) rules and 10U will follow the 10U-K (Advanced Rec) rules.
- If there are existing 8U-A or 10U-K teams, they may pull from the tryouts to fill roster spots for tournament games as needed.
- Players trying out for tournament teams are not guaranteed a roster spot.
- If there is enough interest and skill level available to form multiple teams within a given age division, this can be done at the league's discretion. If there are multiple teams within a given age division, parents are not able to make requests as to which roster an All-Stars player is placed on.
- If your player has guest played in a tournament during the current Fall 2026 season - they are not eligible for our All-Stars Tournament program. This is due to eligibility restrictions within DFW Mid-Cities Interlock which hosts the All-Stars Tournaments.

Sign up for the free tryouts by using the link in the FB comments!

While all of our teams had some action this past Saturday with games or scrimmages, our 10UK, 12U, and 16U teams will get their first official games on the books this coming weekend. This Saturday's games are in Colleyville, Southlake, and Coppell.

Share your pictures in the comments from last weekend's activity or share your pictures of this upcoming week's games in the comments!

A couple of fall season updates!

Our week 1 schedule (this Saturday!) is posted in SportsEngine and coaches should be aware of these schedules. We are working through finalizing the remaining schedules now. These should be posted by tomorrow.

Uniforms are on the way and we should have them the middle of this week. We'll have those available for cosches to pick up during their practices on Thursday night. We'll update coaches as the week progresses.

We look forward to seeing everyone out at the parks this weekend!

The only thing predictable about life is it's unpredictability.

Our early practices were canceled due to the heat (again) and we are watching our late practice slots for the possibility of lightning within 10 miles.

Please be sure to have your players drink water throughout the day and week to help reduce heat issues.
