๐ฏ๏ธ WE WILL NEVER FORGET ๐ญ๐น
January 12th, 2010 โ a day Haiti was shaken to its core, but never broken.
In just seconds, hundreds of thousands of lives were lost, homes destroyed, and families forever changed. But through the devastation, the strength of the Haitian people was revealed to the world. Resilient. Unshakable. Still standing.
Today we remember those we lost, honor the survivors, and recommit ourselves to building stronger โ not just in Haiti, but throughout the diaspora.
๐ And while we remember, we must also act.
Many of the same Haitians granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS) after the quake are now facing the possibility of losing it on February 3rd โ at risk of being sent back to a country still reeling from instability and gang violence.
๐ฃ๏ธ We must raise our voices. We must protect our people. Nou pap bliye. Nou pap lage. Ayiti se nou. Nou se Ayiti.
