Butch Davis-Denny Dutcher Memorial VFW Post 2935

09/21/2026

Only 10 short days after everyone remembered, they’ve gone back to their everyday lives…

But not us. We can never forget as the events of 9/11 have been permanently tattooed on our hearts and minds. We carry it with us everywhere we go, every single day.

Our precious America. We will not forget. 🇺🇸

Her qualifying overseas military campaign: Operation Enduring Freedom

When asked why she continues to serve through the VFW, Kelly says she values the connection to others who served, and as a true patriot of this great nation, is honored to continue helping other veterans.

Thank you for your past and continued service Kelly. We appreciate all you do.🫡

A huge THANK YOU to the Sherwood community this past Memorial Day weekend for their generous donations to our post.

Because of you, we were able to raise over $1600 that will go right back into the hands of local veterans in need.

At our VFW post, we may not wear the uniform anymore, but the values engrained in us and the oaths we swore never expire so thank you for helping us continue our mission to serve.

The red poppy is a globally recognized symbol of remembrance, sacrifice, and honor for military personnel who have died in service.

Its association with the military originated during World War I, inspired by the poem "In Flanders Fields" by Lt. Col. John McCrae, who saw the flowers bloom reminding him of the bloodshed that took place amidst the devastated battlefields of Europe.

Today on this Memorial Day, take a moment to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this great nation.

May we never forget. 🇺🇸
