Today would have been Lane's 44th birthday! On this day, we would like to honor one of the awardees of the Team Building Award-- the Davies High School Basketball Program (Fargo, North Dakota) for students in grades 6–12.
For more than 30 years, this program has been about much more than basketball. It has built a culture of leadership, discipline, confidence, and respect while creating opportunities for young athletes to grow both on and off the court. Every player is given the chance to develop their skills, learn teamwork, and receive meaningful coaching that emphasizes personal growth—not just winning games.
This $1,000 funding is helping to reduce financial barriers for student-athletes by supporting camps, tournaments, travel opportunities, and other team experiences that allow players to compete at a higher level and gain valuable life experiences.
This grant is especially meaningful because Coach Manson shared a powerful connection to Lane. He was Lane's high school basketball coach and kept in contact with Lane throughout Lane's life.
