Today is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and the North Kansas City Police Department Foundation would like to thank the dedicated men and women of the NKCPD who serve our community every day. From patrol and dispatch to detectives, animal control, SROs, parking control, and civilian staff, each role plays an important part in keeping North Kansas City a safe and welcoming place to live, work, and visit.

The North Kansas City Police Department Foundation is proud to support the North Kansas City Police Department's mission by providing a new IDent 2.0 biometric fingerprint scanner. The scanner allows officers to use fingerprint technology in the field to identify suspects who refuse to identify themselves or whose identity officers question.

“The acquisition of the Ident 2.0 provides a safer way to identify suspects without having to transport them to police headquarters for identification.” - Chief Freeman

The NKCPD Foundation is excited to announce that we're helping organize a community fundraiser event in the near future — and we're looking for car clubs, motorcycle clubs, and individual enthusiasts with classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, and more to join us!

The event, called “Cops and Rodders,” will be hosted by the North Kansas City Police Department Foundation. The exact date is still being finalized, with the show taking place in North Kansas City, likely in a parking lot off Swift Street.

This fundraiser will support the NKC Police Department, with proceeds going toward much-needed equipment upgrades like body cameras and other essential tools.

Entry Details:

Entry Fee: ~$25 per vehicle

Includes: A thank-you item such as a t-shirt, sticker, or similar

Extras: We’re hoping to have food trucks and light entertainment throughout the event!
