AITA for taking my daughter's v**e and getting angry when I found out she'd been va**ng?
My daughter is 15 years old.
Yesterday, I found out she has apparently been va**ng for about 3 years without me knowing.
I was cleaning her room when I found a v**e hidden away.
Honestly, I was shocked and angry.
When she got home, I confronted her about it and ended up raising my voice.
She immediately got upset, started crying, and went to her room.
I took the v**e because I didn't want her using it anymore.
Later, I told my mom what happened, expecting her to understand why I reacted the way I did.
Instead, she told me I handled it completely wrong.
She thinks I should have left the v**e where I found it and had a calm conversation with my daughter about the dangers of va**ng and ni****ne.
We ended up arguing about it on the phone before I finally hung up.
From my point of view, I don't think a teenager should get to keep using something like that while we slowly discuss it.
I felt like taking it away immediately was the right thing to do.
At the same time, I'm wondering if I let my anger get the best of me when I confronted her.
Was I wrong for taking the v**e and reacting the way I did?
AITA?
