What an incredible night. 🌺✨

Our 22nd Annual Gala, Beyond the Horizon: An Evening in Paradise, held on Saturday, June 13, was one for the history books.

Together, we celebrated with a sold-out crowd at Vineyards in Simi Valley and made it one of our most successful Galas to date. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and guests, we exceeded our fundraising goals and raised more support than ever before.

But what made the evening truly unforgettable wasn't just the numbers. It was the joyous feeling of community in the room. The smiles, laughter, meaningful conversations, and powerful stories shared by our Members reminded us why this mission matters.

Most importantly, the Gala brought together people who believe in inclusion, opportunity, and belonging. Because of your support, more individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities will have the opportunity to live, work, learn, and thrive.

We're excited to share more photos, videos, and special moments from the evening in the coming days. For now, here's a small glimpse of a truly unforgettable celebration.

🌺☀️ Last Friday, our Members celebrated summer in style at New Horizons' Annual Summer Party!

The day was filled with great food, games, music, dancing, prizes, and plenty of smiles. Events like these are about more than just having fun. They create opportunities for friendship, community, confidence, and belonging.

As we look ahead to our upcoming 22nd Annual Gala, Beyond the Horizons: An Evening in Paradise, we're reminded of why we celebrate. Every laugh shared, every dance on the floor, and every connection made reflects the impact your support helps create throughout the year.

The tropical spirit, joy, and sense of community from our Summer Party are exactly what we'll be celebrating together at this year's Gala on June 13.

For the 7th year in a row, New Horizons Members proudly participated in Councilmember John Lee's (CD 12) Making Movies That Matter Youth Short Film Festival at The Soraya theater at CSUN.

This inspiring event, which took place on May 14th, celebrates storytelling, creativity, and inclusion through film, with subjects that matter most to the filmmakers themselves. We are thrilled to share that our Members were honored with the Community Spirit Award for their work on two short documentary projects: "Animal Cruelty" and "Protect Our Oceans"!*

From walking the red carpet to sharing in the excitement of the screenings and celebration, it was a truly memorable experience for everyone involved. We are so proud of our Members for continuing to represent New Horizons with creativity, enthusiasm, and heart.

Congratulations to all who participated in this incredible event and helped make movie magic happen — and a special thank you to Councilmember John Lee and Ron Rubine, CD12 Senior Advisor, for ensuring our Members’ voices are heard and celebrated, too!

🔥 Wildfire preparedness starts before fire season.

This month, we’re helping our friends at Southern California Edison (SCE) share important resources and reminders with communities across Southern California as part of Wildfire Preparedness Month.

New Horizons is proud to partner with SCE in supporting outreach efforts that help keep our Members, families, and friends informed, prepared and connected.

Join us for an inspiring evening at the New Horizons Gala 🌺✨

As part of our tropical-themed celebration, guests will enjoy special performances by The Dancing Fire Entertainment, featuring authentic Tahitian dance and live Polynesian drumming that will help bring the spirit of the evening to life.

While this high energy cultural performance will add to the atmosphere and celebration, the heart of the Gala remains our mission: raising critical support for New Horizons’ Employment Services and Youth Navigation Center programs, which empower individuals with disabilities through education, job training, and meaningful opportunities within the community.
