What happens when you put a C.A.R. President and a DAR Regent side by side? A joint meeting, of course!

This weekend, Mt. Rainier Society C.A.R. and the Annie Pulliam Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution held a special joint meeting, with our President and their Regent leading business side-by-side.

We also celebrated an exciting milestone—welcoming 12 new members who have joined our society in the past year! Each received a welcome bag packed with C.A.R. traditions, a pocket Constitution, an America 250 challenge coin, a homemade Mt. Rainier Society pin, a welcome eagle, and some patriotic games and activities. We also recognized 4 of our very active prospective members.

The fun didn't stop there! We proudly installed our first officers since reorganizing our society and kept everyone laughing with a spirited games outside, topped off with a delicious potluck.

It was a day filled with leadership, friendship, tradition, and plenty of fun—the perfect combination for a growing C.A.R. society!

What a great day celebrating America 250 at Black Diamond Heritage Day!

Last weekend, members of Mt. Rainier Society C.A.R. joined the Mary Fell Stevenson Chapter, NSDAR, Princess Angeline Society, C.A.R., and the SAR/DAR Fife & Drum and Color Guard for a day full of history and fun.

Our members proudly marched in the Parade of Flags, carrying historic colonial and Revolutionary-era flags. After the parade, the fun continued with cookie decorating, games, face painting, and exploring the History Museum’s brand-new coal mine exhibit!

It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about our nation’s history, connect with friends old and new, and celebrate the road to America’s 250th birthday.

Today, members of Mt. Rainier Society, C.A.R. honored the true meaning of Memorial Day by taking part in ceremonies across our community. One of our members proudly served in the color guard with his Boy Scout troop at both the Preston and Fall City cemetery observances, organized by the Amerivan Legion Post 79. Later, our C.A.R. members, families, and friends gathered at Mt. Si Cemetery to attend the Memorial Day ceremony there as well.

Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a day to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for the opportunity to stand beside our community in remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we enjoy today.

🇺🇸 We will remember them. 🇺🇸

Today, the children of Mt. Rainier Society C.A.R., alongside Annie Pulliam Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, had the honor of placing flags on every Veteran’s grave at Mt. Si Cemetery in preparation for Memorial Day.

With grateful hearts and careful hands, they worked to ensure that each hero’s service and sacrifice was remembered. From generation to generation, we carry forward the importance of honoring those who served our country.

We are so proud of these young patriots for giving their time today in remembrance and respect.

Introducing our new WASHINGTON STATE C.A.R. PRESIDENT, Mt. Rainier's own president, Damien! We are so proud of this accomplishment and are excited to support him during his term!

Damien is a lifetime member of the C.A.R. and is President of the Washington State Society C.A.R. He is also a member of the Mount Rainier Society, C.A.R. where he has served as President. Damien will graduate from highschool in 2027.

He is a member of a local mountain bike team, and he races downhill across the US in the junior category. He is currently training and progressing towards racing on the global stage and becoming a professional racer within the next 2 years. He is a certified mountain bike instructor, and he snowboards and skis in the off-season. Damien loves being active outdoors!

This life-long interest in biking is reflected in Damien’s volunteer work in the community. He has volunteered as a mountain bike camp leader with Sweetlines, built bike trails with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, coached young BMX racers, and helped with NW Cup mountain bike races.

We had an incredible meeting today! We heard reports from those who attended the George Washington wreath laying at the University of Washington, State Conference in Olympia, signed membership papers for two prospective members, and discussed the next few months' activities. After business we went to the Pop-up Museum hosted by the Fall City Historical Society. We learned how to type on manual typewriters, listened to the organ being played, watched fibers being spun into thread and then woven on a loom. We guessed the use of lots of objects from the past and learned about the history of Fall City.

Many thanks to the Fall City Historical Society for making time for us to enjoy the museum. We learned a lot and had fun while doing it!

Welcome to the new page for Mt. Rainier Society, Children of the American Revolution. We are comprised of members from the Snoqualmie Valley and beyond who are interested in history, service to others and patriotism.

The National Society of the Children of the American Revolution, founded in 1895, is the oldest patriotic youth organization in our country. Membership is open to descendants of patriots of the American Revolution.

Members gain valuable leadership experience in conducting meetings, following parliamentary procedures and standard protocol, serving as delegates and speaking before groups at local, state and national conferences. The responsibility and privilege of selecting officers helps members gain an understanding of the democratic process.
