I remember trying to explain to Matthew about his dad’s death – and 10 years later, he stills asks for his dad. The loss of their fathers Matthew and Anthony feel is unlike anything most of us can imagine – and it’s heartbreaking.

Meet the man behind our foundation - Mike Petrone.

The Michael Petrone Foundation was started in 1999 by members of Bishop Kenrick High School’s Class of 1976 to honor Petrone, a classmate, dear friend who passed a year earlier while undergoing a heart and kidney transplant. The Foundation seeks to support charities that reflect the four most important things to Mike… family, friends, children, and his home town of Norristown. Since 1999 members of the Petrone Foundation have worked to honor Mike’s memory and those in need by following the motto “friends helping friends.”

Meet Tanya Hagner.

In February, Tanya had to undergo brain surgery to remove a tumor on the nerve of her eye as she lost sight in her right eye after a stroke in 2002. She also battling neurological issues that cause numbness where she struggles with balance and overwhelming back pain. Her 25 year old son, Ethan who recently graduated from Penn State moved back home and left his job to help his Mother. Tanya is a truly kind and giving person, and we are happy to be able to assist.

Our September 21st outing is partly to help Tanya and her family.

Meet Anthony Storti

He is 41 years old and has Down Syndrome.

Anthony is no stranger to surgery as he has had many orthopedic problems.

Including a number of spinal surgeries and a hip surgery.

His latest surgery (February 2025) was for Spinal Myelopathy (C-2 to T-3 with rods).

Anthony’s father, Pat, was a beloved basketball referee in the Norristown area who passed away suddenly a few years ago.

Now, Anthony’s mother, Rosemary, needs help to pay for a fitted-up van that can be used to transport Anthony.

Our 27th annual golf outing will be partly to help the Storti family.
