Puget Sound Honor Flight

Puget Sound Honor Flight PSHF takes local senior veterans on a free trip to DC to visit the memorials built in their honor. America is losing approximately 200 WWII veterans per day.

The median age of our Korean War veteran is nearing 90 years old. And our Vietnam veterans have been on our waitlist for now four years. Time is not on our side and there is a great deal of urgency to raise the necessary funds to take our heroes on their cathartic journey. Nationally, The Honor Flight Network has a substantial waiting list, and it is up to the regional hubs to plan and execute tri

ps for veterans from each area. In March of 2013, Puget Sound Honor Flight, serving Western Washington, formed and in October of the same year, made its inaugural trip. Thirty trips later, our waiting list still tops 500 applicants — all Vietnam veterans. We are thankful for the continued interest in an honoring for these veterans. Puget Sound Honor Flight relies on your tax deducible donations to ensure that these men and women are honored with this important experience. How to Donate:

There is no better word to describe the volunteer team at the SeaTac USO other than AMAZING! They have been our biggest supporters since day one! They show up to support our departures and returns — setting up for check-in, greeting travelers at drop off, tearing down after we head to the gate — and orchestrating the necessary details of our welcome home celebrations. We have relied on them at every turn and their response to each of our many asks is “absolutely, we’ll handle it”! We are forever indebted! ❤️🤍💙

According to the USO, more than 27,000 volunteers nationwide support more than 5 million service members and military families each year.

All ready to begin the day after a hearty breakfast, guardian training complete where white bus lead, Chris, gave a nod and “high ten” to the red bus for their sheer talents (we surmise 🤣) and all three buses are heading out for the day! ❤️🤍💙

Early morning rise and shine for all our travelers and we are all checked in, bellies are full, we’re caffeined up, everyone’s onboard, and we’re excited for all that’s yet to come!

Our immense thanks to Nucor Steel Seattle for their generous funding of this trip, their employees who volunteered at check-in, and their veteran staff who are joining as volunteer guardians on the trip! These sorts of partnerships are vital to our success. And with a waitlist of over 500 local veterans — we are forever grateful.

Thank you for loving our veteran community as much as we do! ❤️🤍💙

Please mark your calendars for June 25-28 in Lacey, WA for The Wall That Heals. Whether or not you’ve been to the Vietnam Wall in DC — this, too, is a cathartic experience. ❤️

The Wall That Heals is coming to Lacey, WA!

We are proud to announce that The Wall That Heals will be in Lacey, WA on June 25–28, 2026. It will be open to the public 24 hours a day and free to all visitors.

The Wall That Heals is a three-quarter-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. It stands 7.5 feet high at its tallest point and 375 feet long. Established by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in 1996, this replica and its 53-foot Education Center have traveled to more than 800 cities, honoring the more than three million Americans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Vietnam War. The Wall bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam.

The Education Center contains artifacts and digital displays that tell the story of the Vietnam War, the establishment of The Wall, and how Vietnam transformed the way our nation treats its Veterans and service members. It will also display photographs of those whose names are on the Wall and feature the “In Memory” program, honoring local Veterans who returned home from Vietnam and later passed away.

To submit the name and photograph of a loved one for the “In Memory” program, learn more, sign up for tours, volunteer, or make a donation, visit www.thewallthathealslaceywa.org or email Jorge Castillon at [email protected]
