Once a Stop, Go & Tell presenter, always a Stop, Go & Tell presenter!💙

Our education team has been BUSY keeping up with the growing number of schools requesting presentations, so we’ve been calling in some familiar faces to help! Former education intern Anthony was kind enough to jump back into presenter mode and help us out at Sunset Hill in Mustang!

We love that our presenters carry their passion for prevention education beyond their time at Bethesda, and we’re even more grateful when they’re willing to put that passion back into action. Here’s to making sure as many kiddos as possible get to learn how to stay safe, speak up, and feel empowered!💙

Prevention is powerful, but only works when education is accessible!

Research suggests that up to 95% of child sexual abuse may be preventable through education and awareness. That’s why we’re passionate about making Stop, Go & Tell accessible to as many children and communities as possible!

From providing presentations alongside ASL interpreters to offering sessions in both English and Spanish, we’re working to make sure more children have the knowledge, confidence, and tools to recognize unsafe situations, establish boundaries, and speak up.

Because every child deserves to feel safe, empowered, and heard.💙

OU Pi Phi… You absolutely blew us away!🥹

These incredible ladies hosted a donation drive for Bethesda and showed up for the children and families we serve in a BIG way. Seeing this kind of generosity, especially from young women choosing to rally their community around survivors, means more than we can put into words.

We are so grateful for every item donated, every person who participated, and every Pi Phi who helped make this happen. Thank you for showing survivors just how many helping hands are behind them!💙

Last week, our Executive Director and Clinical Director had the opportunity to present “Say It to Heal It” at the Zarrow Mental Health Symposium!

Their session explored how stigma, discomfort, and silence shape the way we communicate about trauma, bringing together Julie’s research on trauma and taboo communication and experience discussing Bethesda’s mission with diverse stakeholders, and Melissa’s clinical experience supporting trauma survivors and families while working alongside caseworkers, the legal system, and other professionals.

From breaking cycles of stigma and silence to introducing the HEAR framework for responding to difficult disclosures, their session challenged attendees to consider: What are we all doing to become people it feels safe to talk to?

We’re so grateful for opportunities to represent Bethesda, keep important conversations going, and help make the uncomfortable a little easier to talk about.💙
