🚨 Euthanasia Deadline Plea 🚨

HELP! We need to talk about Calvin. It's never easy to write posts like this, but transparency is something we value deeply, and we need to bring your attention to a great dog who is struggling. Calvin is a smart, energetic dog with so much potential, but the shelter simply cannot provide the kind of daily structure, activity, and enrichment he needs to thrive.

Calvin needs a permanent home by Friday at 5 PM.

Calvin is smart, trainable, playful, and full of personality—but he is also a high-energy working dog who needs a job, structure, routine, and daily enrichment. When those needs are met, Calvin can be an incredible companion. When they aren't, that energy builds up and he can become very hyper and mouthy.

Calvin previously spent several months at Annie's Ruff House, where he worked on basic commands and showed just how capable he is of learning. He doesn't need someone to start from scratch. He needs someone committed to continuing that work and giving him the consistency and guidance he needs to stay focused and succeed.

Calvin does well with other dogs, and we believe another playful dog in the home could be a great outlet for some of his energy. He also seems to do okay with cats, but he can sometimes be overwhelming to them—especially when he hasn't had enough exercise or enrichment.

Calvin isn't a couch potato looking for a quiet life. He needs a job. A routine. Exercise. Training. Play. Purpose. And a home to call his own.

Calvin is not available for foster placement. This needs to be a permanent solution, and he needs that home by Friday at 5 PM.

If you want to help Calvin, please help us. Share this post. Send it to the active person, working-dog lover, farmer, trainer, or experienced dog owner in your life. Somewhere out there may be exactly the person Calvin needs—we just have to reach them.

Help us give Calvin the chance to leave the shelter for the last time—not for another temporary stop, but for the permanent life he deserves.

Please help us congratulate Dr. Tyler on Veterinarian of the Year!!

Dr. Tyler is the veterinarian at Norman Animal Welfare and we have to agree that there is absolutely no one more deserving of this recognition. The care she gives to every animal that comes through the doors of the shelter is second to none. We are so proud to work alongside her and witness the lives that she’s changed. 🐾

Thank you Dr. Tyler for your dedication to our community and all the animals within!

Finn had no idea how life changing a second chance could be. One thousand dogs from Norman have had a second chance beyond their wildest dreams thanks to the partnership of Norman Animal Welfare and Dog Is My CoPilot, Inc.

Did your best friend find their forever home through Norman Animal Welfare? We want to celebrate them!

Annie’s Ruff House is excited to partner with Norman Animal Welfare to host a special NAW Alumni Reunion on September 30th.

This will be a full day of daycare to celebrate the dogs who started their stories at Norman Animal Welfare and the families who gave them their forever homes.

Norman Animal Welfare staff members will be on site to reconnect with the pets they have cared for in the past and see how they've grown and changed since finding their families😍❤️. They'll also have the opportunity to see how we run our play groups here at Annie's Ruff House😎.

‼️NAW alumni will receive 50% off daycare for the day of the reunion!‼️

⬇️⬇️Important for anyone who has not attended Annie's Ruff House before:⬇️⬇️

All dogs must complete a temperament test before the reunion in order to participate. Current proof of required vaccinations must be provided before the temperament test, including:

Rabies
Bordetella
DHPP
Leptospirosis

Dogs must be scheduled in advance for the reunion!

Cherry is looking for you! She’s taking her job as door greeter very seriously and is ready to receive all the lovins today at Barnes & Noble.
