Important Notice Regarding Transportation

Due to liability and insurance restrictions, Light Up the Night committee members or volunteers are unable to provide rides to participants. Unless you as a volunteer are a staff or family member and would be utilizing your own insurance while transporting.

We’ve noticed a few inquiries about this, and we do not include transportation questions on our registration form simply because it's a service we cannot offer.

If you are in need of a ride to the event, we strongly encourage reaching out to a friend, family member, or neighbor to see if you can coordinate a carpool.

Spritzy’s will be joining us at Light Up the Night and providing one FREE drink to every registered dancer, buddy and volunteer who receives a drink ticket!

Caregivers, parents and guardians who stay for the event will receive 20% off their drinks—and a portion of those purchases will be donated to Light Up the Night to help us plan next year’s celebration! ✨

The following email was sent to all registered dancers, we are posting it here so that information is available in more than one way.

Hello Dancers,

We are so excited for our 2nd Annual Light Up the Night Special Needs Prom on Saturday, September 12, at the WarHorse Event Center located at 4300 W Norfolk Ave, Norfolk, NE 68701

Check-in will begin at 4:45 p.m. We will have two check-in lines organized by the dancer’s last name:

A–M

N–Z

Please find the appropriate line when you arrive to help check-in run as smoothly as possible.

The Grand March begins at 5:30 p.m. Dancers will walk down the red carpet as their names are announced and local cheerleaders and crowd welcomes them to the dance! After the grand march, dancers who wanted a buddy will be greeted and introduced to their assigned buddies.

If your dancer does not wish to participate in the Grand March, please respond to this email so we can make a note in advance.

Dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. Our menu includes:

Chicken-fried chicken

Mashed potatoes

Green beans

Pasta salad

Dinner roll

Dessert table

Dinner will be served buffet-style. Tables will be dismissed individually to help the line move smoothly and prevent our servers and dancers from becoming overwhelmed. To ensure there is enough food for everyone who registered, second helpings will not be available.

The dance will begin immediately after dinner. We will also have a photo booth, a caricature artist, and a special drink available for our dancers!

**Please note that dinner is only provided for registered dancers, their registered support staff/caregiver, buddies and event volunteers. Anyone who is not registered in one of these roles will not be able to eat at the event. The Sandbar is located directly across from the WarHorse Event Center for anyone who would like to purchase a meal.

The dance ends at 9:00 p.m.

We appreciate your cooperation and cannot wait to celebrate with everyone at Light Up the Night!
